Dayton announces non-conference schedule

The Dayton Flyers will open the season at home against Ball State on Nov. 10, UD announced Monday. UD last played the Cardinals in 2010. The Flyers lead the all-time series 5-1.

Here is a glance at the other games on the 2017-18 non-conference schedule. All the games are known except for the matchups in the Charleston Classic (Nov. 16, 17 and 19). Game times will be announced at a later date, as will the Atlantic 10 schedule.

Nov. 25, home vs. Akron: UD last played the Zips in 2010. The Flyers lead the series 11-2.

Nov. 29, home vs. Auburn: This is the first game in a two-game series. Dayton will play at Auburn in the 2018-19 season.

Dec. 3, at Mississippi State in Starkville, Miss: This is the first game in a two-game series. Dayton will host Mississippi State in the 2018-19 season.

Dec. 6, home vs. Tennessee Tech: The teams played in 2002 and 2005, splitting the two games.

Dec. 9, home vs. Penn: This will be the first meeting between the two schools.

Dec. 16, home vs. Georgia State: Georgia State is coached by Dayton native Ron Hunter. The teams have never played.

Dec. 19, at Saint Mary's College in Moraga, Calif.: UD lost to Saint Mary's at home last season.

Dec. 23, home vs. Wagner: Dayton won the only meeting in 2003.
