Dayton Flyers coach Archie Miller wins another award

Dayton Flyers coach Archie Miller was named the National Association of Basketball Coaches District 4 Coach of the Year on Wednesday. District 4 includes teams from the Atlantic 10 Conference.

The Flyers finished 24-8 and set a school record with their fourth straight NCAA tournament appearance. They won the A-10 Conference regular-season championship. It was the first outright conference title in school history.

The NABC coaches vote on the awards. They put Dayton senior guards Scoochie Smith and Charles Cooke on the District 4 second team along with Davidson’s Peyton Aldridge, St. Bonaventure’s Matt Mobley and La Salle’s B.J. Johnson. The first team was: Jaylen Adams, St. Bonaventure; T.J. Cline, Richmond; Jack Gibbs, Davidson; Marquise Moore, George Mason; and JeQuan Lewis, VCU.
