The award is the latest of what could be many more for the redshirt-sophomore, who has already been named national player of the year by several outlets, including CBS Sports, The Athletic, NBC Sports, USA Today, and others. Toppin was also named the Atlantic 10 Conference’s Player of the Year earlier.
Toppin is still up for the Naismith Award, given to college basketball's top player. Fan voting for the award, which comprises five percent of the total vote, opened today through April 1. Votes can be cast at naismithfanvote.com.
