That’s the question everyone wants to know, after purported coach Assistant James Lacking was approved by the board, but rejected the job and said afterward he was never contacted by any district officials to say he was hired.

The Dayton Public Schools Board met Friday again Friday

“How has the situation been handled with Dunbar overall? Not well. I think they’ve understood they haven’t done it well,” board member Joey Lacey said. “I would like to see them open the process to a lot more people.

The board meets again July 11, where the board could formally vote in a new coach.
