Hendrick Motorsports found a pretty huge replacement for Dale Jr.

Jeff Gordon is coming back to NASCAR, but not in the No. 24 car.

Instead, it will be No. 88.

Confused? We’ll explain.

Gordon, who retired after last season, is set to fill in this week and next for Dale Earnhardt Jr., who remains sidelined by concussion-like symptoms according to NASCAR.com.

Per the site, this week’s race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway will be the first for Gordon in anything other than the No. 24 car he raced 797 times in the Sprint Cup Series.

Gordon will also replace Earnhardt in two weeks for the race at Pocono. Alex Bowman filled in for him last week in New Hampshire.
