BADIN 5, PURCELL MARIAN 4: Luke Wurzelbacher hit a home run and Nate Snellgrove went 2-for-3 with two triples, an RBI and two runs scored to lead the Rams in a Greater Catholic League game played on Friday. Scott Purcell went went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs and Jeff Smith was 1-for-3 with a run for Badin, which improved to 15-7, 9-3 GCL. Pitcher Andrew McKinney earned his first victory of the season and Eric Schindler pitched the final two innings to record his first save.

BADIN 14, PURCELL MARIAN 0: Anna Weber pitcher her first career shutout, allowing only two hits in a five-inning Girls Greater Cincinnati League Grey Division game on Friday, April 30. It was Senior Night for the Rams and the seniors came through, with Katelyn Moss going 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored, Katie Gray going 2-for-4 with two RBIs, a double and two runs, and Lisa Ruhe going 1-for-3 with a double, walk and two RBIs. Badin improved to 10-11 overall, 7-2 in the GGCL.
FAIRFIELD 10, HAMILTON 0: The Indians broke the game open with eight runs in the bottom of the third inning and went on to run-rule the Big Blue in six innings on Friday. Winning pitcher Jaisa Fox hurled a three-hit shutout, striking out 10 and walking none. Hitting leaders for the Tribe (16-6, 12-4 in the Greater Miami Conference) were Kelly Browning, 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored; Tessa Casey, 1-for-3 with two RBIs; Jessica Flick, 2-for-3 with a double and RBI; Jeanie Taggart, 1-for-2 with a double, RBI and two runs; and Shelby Doan, 1-for-1 with an RBI. Hamilton (9-11, 7-7 GMC) was led by Haleigh Daniels, who collected all three hits against Fox, finishing 3-for-3.
NEW MIAMI 16, ST. BERNARD 1: Winning pitcher Kim Gault tossed a one-hit shutout for the Vikings in a five-inning contest on Friday. Gault also hit a home run, as did Heather Thacker, and Mercedes Wethington went 3-for-4 with a triple and double. The victory boosted New Miami’s record to 10-5.

LAKOTA WEST WINS TWICE: Teh Firebirds defeated Beavercreek 25-15, 25-15 and then scored a 25-20, 25-20 win over Lakewood St. Edwards on Friday, April 30. Jay Fintel led Lakota West with six kills in the match against BEavercreek. The Firebirds improved to 15-1. Lakewood St. Edwards fell to 13-1.
