Lake Loramie: Crappie fishing has been spotty. You will pick one up now and then around lily pads, in the brush and under bridge. Saugeye fishing has improved under and around the Luthman Road bridge. Some have been caught trolling crawler harnesses and others have been picked up by anglers using jigs tipped with minnows, spider rigging for crappies. Bluegills are around the rocks and brush, hitting rubber spiders tipped with waxworms. Catfish are biting on minnows, nightcrawlers, chicken liver and cut shad.
C.J. Brown Reservoir: Try jigging with nightcrawlers or bass minnows over the humps and old roadbed to catch walleyes. Also try casting with Vib-Es or Vibra-Max along the west bank rocks. Crappies and bluegills have been caught off of the docks in the marina ad around the fish attractors placed around the lake. Catfish have been hitting nightcrawlers and chicken liver at the north end of the lake.
Caesar Creek Lake: Crappies have been caught around 8 feet deep on minnows, but the larger crappies are 20 feet deep, around structure. Work the flats for saugeyes. Try drifting and tightlining with nightcrawlers or bass minnows. Some are tossing spinnerbaits around the island. Bluegills are about 8 feet around stickups in the coves. Use waxworms.
Rocky Fork Lake: Bass fishing continues to be good. The best action has been off of points, using green/pumpkin worms around stumps and other structure. Also try shad-colored crankbaits around dying weedbeds. Saugeyes are being caught around the island by trolling a shad-colored Flickershads. The best crappy fishing has been around laydowns using minnows or black/chartreuse tubes. Bluegills around docks and brush, biting on waxworms and mealworms.
Paint Creek Lake: The lake level is dropping, but all ramps are still open. Crappies are close to the bottom in 6-10 feet of water. Use minnows under slip bobbers. Bass are along bluff walls, hitting green/pumpkin worms around stumps. Try fishing the hazard zone for saugeyes. Use chartreuse/red flake twisters, tipped with a piece of nightcrawler. I'd like to see someone use a Vib-E. They work big time for saugeyes at Indian Lake, why not Paint Creek? Spillway fishing has been improving for saugeyes and crappies.
Cowan Lake: Crappie fishing has been off and on. Try jigging with minnows in front of the marina, in the large north cove and around the campground. Bass have been going after jerk baits and shad-like crankbaits. Try topwater early and late. Look for jumps and toss inline spinners to catch white bass.
Acton Lake: Crappies are hitting minnows around the Sugar Camp and near the dam. Some are also fishing around the marina. Catfish are hitting cut shad, nightcrawlers and strawberry chicken. For bass, slow troll a crankbait along the shore near the lodge. Also try a green curly tail. Anglers are trolling Flickershads and Shad-Raps to catch saugeyes.
Lake Erie: The best walleye reports have come from Niagara Reef, around Kelleys Island Shoal and 2 miles east of Kelleys Island. Yellow perch fishing has been good near the Maumee Bay lighthouse, near "D" can of the Camp Perry firing range, near Rattlesnake Island, west of Catawba, off Ballast Island, near Lucy's Point of Middle Bass Island and southwest of Kelleys Island.
