McGuff signs extension with Xavier

CINCINNATI — Badin High School graduate Kevin McGuff has signed a five-year contract extension as the Xavier University women’s basketball coach which will run through the 2006-17 season.

McGuff was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year for the 2009-10 season after leading the Musketeers to a 30-4 record, 14-0 in the league. Xavier was ranked as high as No. 5, won the Atlantic 10 regular-season and tournament titles and reached the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament.

McGuff, who helped lead Badin to the 1988 Division III boys basketball state championship with an undefeated record, was named head coach at Xavier in 2002. In eight seasons he has a 185-70 record.
