Report: Gruden leaves Bengals for Redskins

Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden will become the new head coach of the Washington Redskins, ESPN reported Thursday morning.

Gruden spent three seasons with the Bengals, who finished the season tied for sixth in the NFL in scoring (26.9 points per game) and 10th in the league in total offense.

Gruden replaces Mike Shanahan in Washington.

The Bengals are expected to promote running backs coach Hue Jackson to offensive coordinator, according to ESPN.
