Wife of golfer Jason Day in court-side collision with LeBron James

Ellie Day, the wife of PGA Tour golfer Jason Day, was taken away on a stretcher from her court-side seat Thursday night after LeBron James crashed into her going for a loose ball during the fourth quarter of the Cavaliers game against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Cleveland.

Day left courtside wearing a neck brace and was taken to a local hospital. TNT reporter Craig Sager said on the broadcast that she was alert and talking.

“For me, her health is very important,” James said in an interview after the game. “Hopefully she’s doing OK.”

Ellie is from Lucas, Ohio. The Days live in the Columbus area. She recently gave birth to the couple’s second child — Lucy.
