Cincinnati Reds shortstop Zack Cozart extends lead in All-Star voting

Despite a slump, Cincinnati Reds shortstop Zack Cozart extended his lead over Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager in voting for the National League All-Star team in the past week.

Cozart’s batting average has fallen from .353 to .320 since June 6, and he hasn’t driven in a run in his last 10 appearances. The Reds have lost nine straight games. Cozart still leads NL shortstops in batting average, on-base percentage (.404) and slugging percentage (.562).

In the updated voting totals announced Monday, Cozart had 1,465,327 votes. Seager had 1,143,767 votes. Cozart led by 193,178 votes last week, Now he leads by 321,560.
