Reds hope to end long suffering against Mets

The Reds’ ineptitude against the Mets spans three seasons. They’ll get a chance to change that beginning Tuesday.

The Reds have lost 14 straight games against the Mets dating back to Sept. 6, 2014. It’s the team’s longest losing streak against one foe since losing 16 consecutive to the Diamondbacks from 2001-2003.

The Mets have a .516 winning percentage at Great American Ball Park, the best of any visiting team since its inception in 2003.

New York has lost seven of 11 and shutdown middle-of-the-order star Yoenis Cespedes for the remainder of the season. Once looked at as a possible World Series dark horse, the Mets have floundered to fourth place in arguably the weakest division in the sport.
