H.S. Roundup 12/27: Hamilton holds off Springfield in OT

Trey Robinson poured in 31 points to help lead Hamilton boys basketball in a 78-70 overtime victory versus Springfield on Friday night.

Ke’von Burnett added 16 points and Malik Verdon added nine points with nine rebounds for Hamilton, which moved to 5-1 overall.

Jeff Tolliver paced Springfield with 22 points and Larry Stephens added 16.

Boys Basketball

Carlisle 62, Dayton Christian 59: Nolan Burney turned in 22 points and Carlisle hit a contested three-pointer as time expired to earn the win. Isaiah Edwards scored 19 points, 16 in the second half, to spur Dayton Christian’s rally effort.

Chaminade Julienne 57, Gilmour Academy 45: Daniel Nauseef and Larry Turner each had 14 points and Nauseef hauled in 10 rebounds to lead CJ. Brandon Gibson added 10 points.

Cin. Christian 60, Talawanda 30: K.J. Swain scored 15 points and Logan Woods 14 to pace Cincinnati Christian.

Emmanuel Christian 62, Catholic Central 53: Fred Shropshire and Casey Swank combined for 46 points to lead Emmanuel Christian.

Fort Loramie 55, Anna 41: Caeleb Meyer scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half and Grant Albers had 10 of his 15 points in the third quarter to lead Fort Loramie.

Greenon 72, Southeastern 58: Jaden Journell netted 21 points, Clayton Minteer 19 and Mason Potter 10 to pace Greenon.

Mechanicsburg 40, Elgin 31: Jake Edwards led ‘Burg with 17 points and Kyle Smith added 11.

Miamisburg 55, Fenwick 52, OT: Alex Ball totaled 19 points, Anthony Coppock added 11 and Corey Fries drained a pair of clutch three-point baskets down the stretch to lead Miamisburg.

Minster 61, Russia 47: Jacob Salazar tallied 14 points and Trent Roetgerman 13 for Minster, which had a 15-point swing in the fourth quarter to take control. Mason Dapore scored 21 points for Russia.

New Miami 89, Riverview East 48: Deanza Duncan poured in 28 points and Jordan Robinette and Elijah Faulkner put up 15 apiece to help bump New Miami to 7-1.

Oakwood 74, Tri-County North 50: Darren Rubin and Daniel Hu combined for 40 points in the first three quarters to lead Oakwood.

Preble Shawnee 52, Twin Valley South 48: Jake Green chipped in 16 points and Xavier Adams and Sam Agee added 12 apiece for Preble Shawnee. Cole Peterson had 27 points in a losing effort for TVS.

Sidney 80, Bellefontaine 48: Ten players scored for Sidney, led by Darren Taborn with 12, Dominick Durr with 11 and Avante Martin with 10.

St. Henry 67, Celina 54: Ben Evers recorded 16 points and Riley Link tacked on 13 for St. Henry.

St. Marys 51, New Knoxville 34: Carson Bierlein scored 19 points in a losing effort for New Knoxville.

Waynesville 70, Legacy Christian 34: Ryan Papanek and Seth Bloom finished with 13 points apiece for Waynesville.

Girls Basketball

Centerville 77, St. Elizabeth 48: Cotie McMahon finished with 19 points, Amy Velasco 17 and Kendal George 16 to pace Centerville.

Covington 57, Newton 45: Morgan Kimmel totaled 21 points, Claire Fraley 18 and Claudia Harrington 11 for Covington. Camryn Gleason scored 16 points for Newton.

Milton-Union 45, Graham 35: Rachel Thompson tallied 13 points to pace Milton-Union.

Springboro 70, North Central 67: Peyton Nation put up 22 points and Jordan Hobbs added 16 for unbeaten Springboro.

Trotwood 68, Pickerington North 39: Quantaijah Huffman netted 23 points to lead Trotwood.
