HS Roundup 8/16: Koesters’ slick putting leads St. Henry

Boys Golf

St. Henry 171, Wapakoneta 201: Sophomore Sam Koesters shot the hot round for St. Henry with a 35. Coach John Dorner marveled at the young man’s putting, noting that he finished the nine holes with only nine putts.

“Sam had one-putted every hole going into the 9th hole. I was really pulling for him, as he went to the final tee box, to accomplish a complete round with nine one-putts. He not only completed the amazing feat, he actually birdied the last hole to finish with a one-under par score of 35 (8 pars and a birdie). I have never seen that in my 14 years of coaching high school golf, nine one-putts, amazing. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a pro accomplish that. What a day for him to remember,” Dorner said.

Loramie 161, Anna 176: Loramie defeated Anna at Arrowhead, led by Adam Ballas’ 37, Zach Pleiman’s 40 and Caeleb Meyer’s 40. Anna was led by Bryce Cobb with 38, Cole Maurer with 44

and Spencer McClay’s 46.
