HS Roundup 4/2: Northeastern baseball wins in walk-off fashion

Grant Hodson singled in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lead Northeastern to a 5-4 win versus Fairbanks in baseball action on Monday.

Mac Davis and Michael Wilson each had a pair of hits and Jake Nichols picked up the win on the mound.

Baseball

Anna 7, Russia 1: Kyle Evans drove in a pair of runs and Jarred Seigle and Tyler McClay each went 2-for-4 for Anna. On the mound Carter Elliott struck out six to earn the win.

Bellbrook 8, Eaton 5: Ethan Fryman and Ben Borszcz each had a pair of RBI, Adam Galle added three hits with two runs scored and Bellbrook broke a 4-4 tie with four runs in the top of the seventh. Jordan Turner and Dawson Blaylock had two RBI apiece for Eaton.

Chaminade Julienne 5, Fenwick 1: A.J. Solomon tripled and drove in two runs and Jack Huffman had a double to lead CJ. On the mound Nick Wissman scattered three hits in a complete game outing, striking out 10 to move to 2-0. Thomas Vogelsong and Carter Earls each had a double for Fenwick.

Dayton Christian 7, Emmanuel Christian 4: Dayton Christian moved ahead with a five spot in the third inning. Justin Dillhoff struck out eight in six inning to record the win and Sam DiMario went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored.

Fairborn 16, Trotwood 2: Kahlil Lettice, Jamison Anderson and Jacob Hobbs each finished with multiple hits and Logan Wright picked up the victory on the mound for Fairborn.

Fairfield 5, Colerain 4: Colerain broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the top of the seventh but Fairfield answered with five in the bottom of the frame. Caleb Schram had two RBI and Aidan Post, Cameron Tenhundfeld and Gabe Bauman each drove in one run for Fairfield.

Kenton Ridge 5, London 2: Matt Tateman picked up his first win of the season and Luke Haerr nailed down the save for Kenton Ridge, which pulled ahead with three runs in the fourth inning.

Miamisburg 10, West Carrollton 0: Grant Harris allowed one hit while striking out seven in five innings for ‘Burg, and the offense produced 10 runs on only three hits.

Valley View 6, Franklin 5: Clayton Black smacked a homer in the seventh inning for Franklin, but Valley View rallied with two runs in the bottom of the frame.

Softball

Badin 15, Roger Bacon 0: Sydney Rawlings had four hits with five RBI, Caitlyn Smith doubled and drove in three runs and Emma Kent recorded the win on the mound for Badin.

Ben Logan 8, Northwestern 1: Grace Deardurff went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI to go with 11 strikeouts on the mound to pace Ben Logan. Olivia Roose added two hits with two RBI and Lynzee Cronkleton tripled and drove in two runs.

Eaton 9, Bellbrook 3: Emily Dungan homered, Becca Mowen tabbed three hits with one RBI and Annika Gels struck out ten over seven innings to spur Eaton.

Franklin 11, Valley View 5: Madison Earles totaled three hits with a triple and two RBI, Kristen Earles had two hits and three RBI and Chloe Miller struck out five in a winning effort on the mound for Franklin.

Houston 6, Fort Loramie 3: Rylie Voisard jacked a home run and Houston pulled ahead early with four runs in the first inning. Aleah Frilling and Clara Gephart each had one hit and one RBI for Fort Loramie.

Kenton Ridge 14, London 4: Jordan Rucker drove in six runs off of four hits, including a double and a triple, to lead Kenton Ridge offensively. Maddy Hall picked up the win, bumping her record to 4-0.

Mechanicsburg 12, West Liberty-Salem 0: Francys King allowed one hit while striking out ten in five innings, and Megan Alspaugh pounded out a pair of doubles and scored three runs for ‘Burg.

Monroe 7, Brookville 1: Sam Ross doubled and drove in two runs, Makenzie Moore finished with three hits and Alyssa Wagner improved to 2-0 on the mound for Monroe. Haley Brown smacked a solo shot for Brookville.

National Trail 17, Hagerstown 2: Bobbi Grimes tallied four hits, including a triple, and plated three runners to pace National Trail. Davlyn Werner added a double with three RBI and Makena Laird homered.

Triad 4, West Jefferson 0: Kristin Bailey tripled and drove in three runs and Kendell Hughes and Holly Alvoid each had a pair of hits to lead the way for Triad.

Boys Tennis

Beavercreek 5, Oakwood 0: Austin Staiger, Heidi Orloff and Kyle Eskew each nabbed a singles win for ‘Creek.

Fenwick 5, Waynesville 0: Tim Erhart, Hunter Lippert and Connor Powers each picked up a singles victory for Fenwick.

Greenon 3, Fairborn 2: Andrew Conover and Matthew Barton tallied singles wins for Greenon. Janiel Buita won in third singles for Fairborn.

Lehman Catholic 5, Celina 0: Danny Lins, Sam Gilardi and Max Schmiesing swept the singles matches for Lehman.

Tecumseh 5, London 0: Drew Sarihan and Jacob Lewis each won their singles match with scores of 6-0, 6-0 to lead Tecumseh.

Boys Lacrosse

Carroll 7, Clinton-Massie 0: Ethan Fisher scored three goals with three assists and Cullin Walsh and Josh Vagedes combined in goal for the shutout.
