Sharks continue playoff push: The top two teams in the Continental Indoor Football League collide when the Dayton Sharks and Erie Explosion meet 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Hara Arena. It's the final regular-season home game for Dayton. Both entered Sunday's games 7-0 and ranked atop the CIFL in both offense and defense. The Sharks lead the league with 55.4 points per game and are second with 26.0 points allowed. The Explosion are second in scoring at 54.7 points and first in points allowed with 23.8.
CBC clash: One of the better high school baseball battles takes place not once, but twice this week. The Tippecanoe Red Devils (10-1) and the Tecumseh Arrows (8-2) play two with Tecumseh hosting on Monday and Tippecanoe hosting on Wednesday. Both games are 5 p.m. Tipp features a three-headed pitching staff of Steve Calhoun (3-0, 1.34 ERA), Ben Hughes (2-0, 0.00) and Cole Quillen (1-1, 1.17). They'll deal with slick fielding Tecumseh shortstop Tony Evans, whose hitting .379 with 16 RBI.
Cross-town rivalry resumes: Wright State hosts Dayton in a baseball rematch from Feb. 18, a 5-1 win by the Raiders. The Raiders enter Sunday with a 16-17 record. WSU's Kieston Greene is second in the Horizon League with a .363 average and four home runs. The Flyers, 7-23-1, are led by Aaron Huesman who ranks among UD's leaders in most offensive categories including his team-leading .344 average.
