Steelers WR Brown mum on Burfict, praises Pacman

Pittsburgh Steelers Antonio Brown had some critical words for Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict and cornerback Adam Jones after being knocked out of last year's wild-card playoff game.

But during a conference call with Cincinnati media today, Brown denied he had words with Burfict, despite calling him an “idiot” on the Dan Patrick Show in February, and said he has nothing but respect for Jones.

“Pacman Jones is up there with the elite,” Brown said. “I really respect his game and how he’s been able to persevere from the things off the field and continue to be an elite player.”

As for their public feud — when Jones accused Brown of faking an injury after Burfict’s hit left the receiver concussed and unavailable for the division round game against Denver the following week, which the Steelers lost — Brown said it’s finished.

“The things we said last year was last year,” Brown said. “I think we hashed it out with that one. I look forward to competing against him. It’s always an exciting time to go against him. You’ve got to respect a guy like Pacman Jones.”

When asked about his war of words with Burfict, Brown said, “I never said anything about him, said anything to him.”
