Talawanda bantam teams win Super Bowls

OXFORD — Four youth football teams from Oxford recently reached their division championship games and three of them brought home titles.

The Talawanda Bantam Football Association's second-, third- and sixth-grade teams each won their Grade Division Super Bowls during the Ohio Valley Youth Football Central Division Championship games Nov 9. The fifth-grade team also made it to the Super Bowl, but fell to Ross.

The second-grade squad, coach by Dr. Chris Hainline, defeated Edgewood Blue, 18-0, to win its first Super Bowl. Head coach Marques Williams guided the third-graders to their second Super Bowl championship with a 25-20 victory over Oak Hills. Talawanda’s sixth-grade team, under the direction of coach Tommy Crank, defeated Oak Hills Black, 32-14, to win its third Super Bowl title. The fifth-grade team was coached by Mike Wright.
