Today, Reds fans can look back fondly on the glory days.

On this day in 1990, Eric Davis became the 22nd player to homer in the first World Series at-bat.

Cincinnati went on to sweep the defending champion A’s, 4-0. It was the Reds’ fifth and most recent title.
