About Wright State: Grant Basile is coming off a career-high 37 points, but it came in a 96-88 loss at Marshall. Basile on Monday was named Horizon League Player of the Week. The Raiders were outrebounded by Marshall 41-35, and head coach Scott Nagy has talked about his team’s need to improve in that area now that Loudoun Love has graduated. The Raiders have played five Big Ten teams over the years and are 1-12. The Raiders defeated No. 6 Michigan State 53-49 at home on Dec. 30, 1999. The Raiders finished that season 11-17 under Ed Schilling. The Raiders are playing Purdue for the first time. The Big Ten team the Raiders have played the most is Ohio State (four times).

About Purdue: The Boilermakers moved up one spot to No. 6 this week and are one of three Big Ten teams ranked in the top 10. They were picked to finish second in the Big Ten preseason media poll behind fourth-ranked Michigan. All five starters are back, but senior big man Trevion Willams has not started either game. He averaged 15.5 points and 9.1 rebounds last year. In two games, he is averaging 17.5 minutes, 7.5 points and 7.5 rebounds. Williams was recently involved in a conflict with employees at a McDonald’s near the Purdue campus, but he has not been charged with a crime. The school released a statement saying the matter has been reviewed by law enforcement, campus officials and the athletics department, and they consider the matter closed.

Next game: The Raiders play George Washington at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Naples Invitational in Florida. The game will be livestreamed on subscription-based Flohoops.
