The cathedral at the college of Christ Church, where the author of “Alice in Wonderland” lectured, and also lived from 1851 until his death in 1898, Oxford, England. Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, under the name Lewis Caroll, wrote “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass” 150 years ago, rooting it in the place he lived and worked: the city and environs of Oxford with its ancient university, its “dreaming spires” and its surrounding countryside.
