New Sky Princess headed to Fort Lauderdale in 2019

Princess Cruises announced its sailing plans for the 2019-2020 winter sailing season including the arrival of its newest ship, the Sky Princess sailing the Caribbean out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The fourth ship in the fleet’s Royal Class, the vessel will sail the Mediterranean from October-November, but then make its way to Port Everglades for an inaugural three-night sailing Dec. 4. From then, the ship will begin alternating seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages through April 4, 2020.

It will be one of five Princess ships sailing the Caribbean with 10 itineraries across 119 departures. The other ships are Sky Princess sister ship Regal Princess plus the older Caribbean Princess, Crown Princess and Pacific Princess.

“The Caribbean continues to be a highly desired destination for families, honeymooners and travelers alike, offering a memorable taste of the island life through its culturally diverse people, flavorful food and of course, the sun-drenched beaches,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises president, in a press release. “The new Sky Princess and our other beautiful ships provide comfort and convenience while visiting the many diverse Caribbean islands.”

Sky Princess features the line’s new Sky Suites, which offer 270-degree views from atop the ship as well as its own vantage point for the line’s Movies Under the Stars screen. The suites are designed for up to five guests and have the largest balconies in the Princess fleet.
