A Heat Advisory is in effect until 9 p.m. Friday across the region. Heat index values, or the “feels like temperature” was expected to reach 103 today and 107 Friday. High temperatures and humidity can lead to heat illnesses, so it’s important to drink plenty of fluids and limit time in direct sunlight. Also, the NWS urged residents to check on relatives and neighbors, to never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles and to take precautions when spending time outdoors, such as rescheduling activities for morning or evening and wearing lightweight and loose-fitting clothing.

An Air Quality Alert in effect today for Butler and Warren counties, issued by the Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency.
The agency said it expects the air quality to be unsafe for sensitive groups, including children, elderly adults and those with respiratory diseases. It encouraged the public to limit outdoor exertion and to help reduce air pollution by using avoiding using gasoline-powered vehicles and tools, as well as oil-based paints and stains, and not burning leaves or other yard trimmings.

Overnight, it will be partly cloudy and warm, with lows around 73 degrees.
An Excessive Heat Warning will be in effect from noon to 9 p.m. Friday for Butler, Montgomery and Warren counties.
It will be sunny and even hotter, with highs near 95 degrees degrees and heat index values as high as 105.
There will be more clouds overnight, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms beginning around dark that will continue through the night. Lows will be around 76 degrees.
Saturday will be partly sunny, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, finally trailing off around midnight. Highs will be in the mid-80s.
Otherwise Saturday night will be mostly cloudy and cool, with temperatures falling to a low around 66 degrees.
