The Storm Prediction Center in its afternoon update has kept the Miami Valley in a “Marginal Risk” for severe weather, said StormCenter 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell.

The SPC has increased the risk just to our west in Indiana into the “Slight Risk” category.

“Damaging winds will be the primary concern this afternoon as a strong cold front pushes into our area between 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.,” Elwell said. “An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.”

At this time the greatest threat for a tornado would be across the northwestern Miami Valley and back into Indiana. The threat for a tornado is low.

The StormCenter 7 team will continue to monitor the latest radar and forecasts.
