Warm, dry today; Showers possible tomorrow afternoon

Warmer temperatures and dry conditions continue today but will come to an end tomorrow with showers expected Tuesday afternoon.

Today will be partly cloudy, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Highs will be about 15 degrees warmer than usual, reaching the upper 70s.

Tonight will be mostly clear low with temperatures falling around 52 degrees. Skies will be quiet and mostly cloudy.

Clouds will thicken Tuesday, with rain expected to start in the afternoon, according to NWS. Showers will head northeast in the evening, with a few weak, embedded thunderstorms possible. The chance for rain continues into Wednesday.

Temperatures are expected to remain warmer than usual and will be in the mid to upper 70s. The low overnight will be 54 degrees.

Wednesday sees a mostly cloudy day with a chance of rain before 8 a.m. Temperatures will be cooler, with highs in upper 50s to low 60s.

The overnight may be partly cloudy, but drier, as low temperatures drop around the mid-40s.

Seasonal temperatures will remain for the rest of the week, with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s Thursday and low to mid-60s Friday. Conditions will stay dry to close out the work week.
