Sunday sunshine on tap before rainy work week weather strikes

Sunday will bring more warm temperatures and sunshine to the Dayton area, then possible storms mark the forecast for the week ahead.

Sunday will feature mainly sunny skies with highs reaching 84 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Light winds will accompany the seasonably warm weather.

Lows will fall to around 62 degrees early Monday morning with a few isolated clouds.

Monday will start out sunny, and the high will hit 86, but showers and thunderstorms are possible after 2 p.m., with NWS putting the chance at 40% during the daytime and 80% Monday night.

The morning low Tuesday will be 66 degrees, and the day is projected to stay damp, with a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms, on a cloudy day with a high near 81.

Tuesday night may have a 30% chance of rain. The night will be mostly cloudy with a low of 60 degrees.

On Wednesday, there’s a small chance of rain showers, but the day is mainly forecast to be dry and partly sunny. Highs will reach near 80.

Rain may fall before 2 a.m., but otherwise Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy with lows falling to 60 degrees.
