Here is what you need to know for the evening commute and Beggar’s Night activities in the area tonight:
WIND SPEED AND DIRECTION
Wind today and tonight will be out of the west/southwest. Sustained winds of 15-25 mph and gusts of up to 40-50 mph are expected.
TIMING
The strongest wind gusts will occur from 4-10 p.m. tonight
IMPACT
On the road, drivers traveling east or west on I-70 and south on I-75 are the three directions of travel to watch out for.
Trucks and semi-trucks could swerve from the wind gusts, but even smaller cars might feel some impact from the wind this evening.
Trees will be dropping leaves in a hurry today, so use caution while traveling over piles on the roads as they could be as slick as ice.
Little kids will feel the wind the most tonight. Not only can it make it harder to walk around, but the wind chill could dip into the teens and 20s.
Inflatable decorations will likely be blown around.
Gusts up to 50 mph can also produce isolated power outages.
Winds will relax overnight as the coldest air of the season sets up.
