Restaurant relocates from Fairborn to Beavercreek

BEAVERCREEK — The Jeet India Restaurant that had served customers for more than eight years at 2632 Col. Glenn Highway across from Wright State University in Fairborn relocated Monday to a new location at 2750 N. Fairfield Road across from the Mall at Fairfield Commons.

Surjit Singh Mattu — president of the corporation that owns Amar India, a companion restaurant to Jeet India — said the Fairborn restaurant’s lease expired, and he and his brother Lakhwinder Singh, who operates Jeet India, decided to move the restaurant to a slightly larger location. Mattu said Jeet India signed a 10-year lease with options at the new Beavercreek location, which previously housed Hibachi Buffet.

Customers had urged Jeet India’s owners to move to the eastern side of the Fairfield Commons mall, and Mattu said he hopes to build a stronger dinner business at his new location to go along with a consistently strong lunch-buffet crowd. “It’s much more convenient here,” he said.

The new restaurant seats about 160, up from about 100 at the Fairborn location, Mattu said.

The restaurant employs 20, but Mattu said he anticipates hiring additional employees in the coming months to accommodate the increased seating capacity. Plans also call for expanding the menu, he said.

Mattu said he is exploring the possibility of opening a third Dayton-area restaurant, and is looking in the Miller Lane area of Butler Twp. north of Dayton.

Jeet India is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. For more information, call (937) 431-8881 or go to www.jeetindiadayton.com.
