The man said he operates other Wendy’s franchise locations in the Dayton area but said he would not answer other questions. All Wendy’s signage had already been removed from the building by today.
Bob Bertini, spokesman for Dublin, Ohio-based Wendy’s, this afternoon confirmed the closing and said the restaurant had been open for about 16 years.
“Our understanding from the franchisee is that sales at the restaurant were not meeting expectations,” Bertini said.
No other Dayton-area Wendy’s locations are closing, Bertini said. The Wendy’s spokesman said he did not know how many employees were affected.
