Author John Scalzi wins Hugo Award

Science fiction writer John Scalzi, who lives in Bradford, Ohio, has won the Hugo Award for Best Novel for his book, “Redshirts: A Novel with Three Codas.”

The award was presented at a ceremony during LoneStarCon 3 in San Antonio, Texas, on Aug. 29-Sept. 2.

The Hugo Awards, presented annually since 1955, are science fiction’s most prestigious award. An interview with Scalzi, who regularly writes a blog entitled, “Whatever,” was recently featured on the Dayton Daily News “Ideas & Voices” page on Aug.11.
