Actress dishes about Dayton upbringing in Oprah’s magazine

Dayton native Allison Janney learned to appreciate space while growing up in Dayton.

The star of the new dark comedy “Bad Words” discussed her upbringing here during a “fill in the blank” piece in the April 2014 of “O,” Oprah Winfrey’s lifestyle magazine.

To the question growing up in Dayton taught me…, Janney responded “that I am no city girl. I’m incomplete without a yard — a little suburbia. That said, if the guy I fall in love with has a penthouse in Manhattan, I’m not turning him down.”

Janney also discusses the last time she laughed really hard and her funniest flaw in the O edition on stands now.

Although best known for her portrayal of C.J.Cregg on “The West Wing,” Janney has had several big television and film roles in her career.

She currently stars on the CBS sitcom “Mom” alongside Anna Faris.

“Bad Words” is directed by Jason Bateman, who also plays a 40-year-old who enters a kid’s national spelling bee contest using a loophole.

Janney plays Dr. Bernice Deagan.

The film was released earlier this month in several cities around the nation, but is not currently playing in this market.
