National Chicken Wing Day: who has the best chicken wings in town?

Confession: in my mind, chicken wings might as well be fried, grilled or baked hissing cockroaches.

I won’t eat them.

The thought of tearing meat from freaky little bird wing bones terrifies me.

I am a rare bird when it comes to disliking chicken and their creepy wings.

Chicken is among America’s most beloved meats and the chicken wing is king.

Americans ate more than 1.23 billion chicken wings during Super Bowl weekend alone, according to the National Chicken Council’s 2013 Wing Report.

Plenty of our winged friends will be rendered flightless because of today. It is National Chicken Wing Day.

To celebrate the occasion, area restaurants are offering free wings.

Miami Valley residents have proven themselves fans of the fowl’s wings.

The attendance at the recent “Kickin’ Chicken Wingfest” at Lincoln Park Civic Commons outside Fraze Pavilion was off the charts.

Judges awarded “Best Wing” to Romer’s Bar and Grille in Bellbrook. The people’s choice for “Best Damn Wing” award went to Nick’s Restaurant in Xenia, which defended its title this year.
