The Middletown police department received two 911 calls minutes after the Subway restaurant on North Verity Parkway was attempted to be robbed Friday night.

In one call, a male Subway employee, calling from a nearby restaurant parking lot, told the dispatcher: “I saw a gun.”

He said the suspect was wearing a gray hoodie with a mask and he showed a handgun. He was unsure if the suspect was male or female, he said.

The department also received a call from an employee of a nearby restaurant who said he locked the doors after he heard about the alleged robbery.

He said a female employee at Subway was “hysterical” after she ran into his restaurant. He told dispatchers that several people were seen running to their cars in the parking lot.

Police this morning said no arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing.
