UD student hit by vehicle near campus, gets cited for jaywalking

A female University of Dayton student, hit by a vehicle in the area of Brown and East Stewart streets in Dayton tonight, suffered minor injuries and did not require a trip to a hospital, a police sergeant said.

She will be cited for jaywalking, Sgt. Joseph Setty said.

The incident was dispatched about 11:20 p.m. The victim had just been let out of an Uber vehicle when she was struck.

She was one of several young women in the vehicle. The driver let them out at the intersection and left the scene, Setty said.

The Uber vehicle continued on. The vehicle that hit the woman stopped at the scene and police were speaking with the driver, who Setty was would not be cited.
