Federal investigators have released the cause of the plane crash that killed nine people in Akron last November.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board, pilot error, a failure by the company leasing the flight and lax FAA inspectors are to blame, Cleveland media outlets report.

The charter flight crashed into an apartment building in Akron on Nov. 10, 2015, as it was on an approach to the Akron Fulton International Airport. The plane had taken off from Wright Brothers Airport in Miami Twp.

The NTSB is meeting this morning in Washington.

Terry Williams, NTSB spokesman, said the probable cause, findings and safety recommendations will all be released today.

Surveillance video from a nearby business shows the jet descending at a high rate of speed over trees before crashing into an apartment building and exploding.
