Dragon City driver’s 2016 car stolen on delivery

A driver for Dragon City, 1048 S. Smithville Road, had his car stolen while trying to make a delivery of food Friday night.

The 24-year-old driver reported no one answered when he went to the first address to deliver an order; a call to the supposed customer then sent him to apartments a block away on Gondert Avenue, according to the Dayton police report.

The victim left his iPhone in the idling car as he approached a woman sitting on a porch, who told him the food order should go to Apt. C, according to the report.

No one at the apartment claimed to have ordered the food and when the driver returned he found the red 2016 Nissan Altima gone, according to the report.

Police tracked the iPhone to the Gondert Avenue apartmen and interviewed the woman on the porch, who reported that all she knows is one of her relatives and her relative’s boyfriend told her to tell the driver which apartment the food order should go, according to the report.

When the officer knocked on Apt. C, the resident reported the couple who ordered the food escaped through a window when police arrived, police said.
