3 men accused of kidnapping woman

Dayton police have arrested three men accused of kidnapping a woman, robbing her of her purse and forcing her to have sex with one of them.

The incident occurred between 3 and 4 a.m. Monday on East Norman Avenue.

The 25-year-old female victim told police that she was walking with a female acquaintance and heard two guys yell to them. She thought the other female knew them and they walked over to the men, 26-year-old James Graham Jr. and 18-year-old Darnell Woods Jr.

Graham allegedly displayed what looked like a shotgun and forced the women over to an alleyway near 34 E. Norman Ave. The men allegedly told the women to strip down and hand over their purses.

At that point a third male, 48-year-old David Luther, came out of the apartment building and talked to the other two, according to Dayton Police Sgt. Larry Tolpin.

Graham allegedly told the female victim to go with Luther and do anything he wanted.

“Under threat of force, she went inside,” Tolpin said. Luther allegedly raped her and then the men let her go.

Police were contacted when the victim went to the hospital. She was able to lead them to the building where she was attacked and police arrested all three men there at about 7 a.m. Monday.

The weapon, which turned out to be a realistic looking pellet gun, was also recovered.

Police have not been able to locate the other female who was present in order to interview her.

Tolpin said all three men made incriminating statements during interviews with police. Detectives have presented the case to prosecutors and are waiting for charges to be approved.

The men are being held in the Montgomery County Jail. Luther could be charged with kidnapping and rape. Woods and Graham face possible charges of kidnapping and aggravated robbery.

Graham is currently on probation for a 2011 carrying concealed weapons conviction, according to court records. Woods is also on probation for a juvenile offense.
