BETHEL TWP., Miami County (OCT. 5) – The driver of a car stopped on South Ohio 201 around 12:30 a.m. jumped from the car and ran. He was found a short time later in a retention pond and arrested. The man was wanted on a warrant and also had illegal drugs in the vehicle, sheriff’s deputies said. He was charged with failure to comply, three traffic offenses and seven drug charges and jailed.

VANDALIA (OCT. 4) – A woman called police asking for help in getting an intoxicated woman to leave her yard. Police said they found a woman trying to crawl around the yard. When the woman was unable to provide phone numbers for someone to pick her up, she was arrested for persistent disorderly conduct and jailed.

VANDALIA (SEPT. 30) - A man told police his live-in girlfriend bit off a piece of his ear during an altercation that followed an argument about cigarettes and alcohol. The woman said she bit him after he assaulted her during the argument. The man was charged with domestic violence and jailed.

ENGLEWOOD (OCT. 5) – A man called police saying he left a loaded pistol under the pillow of a South Main Street hotel. When he realized a few hours later that he had left the pistol, the man said he called the motel but was told there was no pistol found in the room.

ENGLEWOOD (OCT. 8) – A woman reported her boyfriend said he took a window out of her car and broke it. The man was arrested for criminal damaging along with on a probation violation warrant and jailed.
