Report: Shooting near metro station in France linked to criminal gangs

The shooting Friday night that injured three people in Lille, France, is believed to be linked to criminal gangs, news agencies are reporting.

The shooting in the northern French city injured three people, including a 14-year-old boy. However, none of the injuries were described as life-threatening, according to reports, including from the Daily Mirror in London.

News of the shooting near the Porte d’Arras metro station around 9:45 p.m. in Lille sparked fears, as it came two days after a terror strike in London and there have been previous terrorist attacks in France.

A shooting with multiple injuries in Lille, France, is reported tonight by numerous news agencies and social media reports.

Armed police sealed off roads into the city center after several shots were fired near the Porte d’Arras metro station in the northern French city, The Daily Mirror in London reported.

French reports say at least three people were injured, including a 14-year-old. It’s not clear whether the shooter or shooters are in custody, nor who was responsible.
