No water for Miami Twp. mobile home residents after pipes freeze

Freezing pipes have left residents at a Miami Twp. mobile home park without water.

An unspecified number of homes in Oakwood Village off Wood Road have no water service because of freezing pipes, according to management of the community.

“It goes along with manufactured homes living,” Oakwood Village Community Manager Luke Brandon said. “We have a number of rental homes that we take care of. At negative 15 degrees, even heat tape and all of the precautionary measures” may not prevent freezing lines.

But the mobile home management said it addresses rental properties “immediately.”

“Most of our residents here are homeowners. So when freeze ups occur that would be their responsibility,” Brandon said.

Brandon declined to say how many renters may be without water service and referred other questions to Sun Communities, the mobile home park’s corporate office.

A message left with that office was not immediately returned.
