Greene County warns of ‘pure carfentanil’ in latest arrest

Greene County agents arrested a Xenia man for multiple drug trafficking offenses.

Muhammad I. Salahuddin, 31, is in Greene County Jail on a probable cause warrant for multiple drug trafficking offenses, including trafficking in herion, fentanyl and carfentanil, according to a media release.

Salahuddin was indicted last week in Greene County on nine charges: four counts of trafficking in heroin; four counts possession of a controlled substance; and one count aggravated possession of drugs.

The arrest was part of an ongoing investigation.

Salahuddin is being held on a $100,000 bond.

“It is important for the public to know that that pure carfentanil has made it to the Greene County area,” reads a media release.

Carfentanil is a synthetic opioid 10,000 times more potent than morphine and 100 times more potent than fentanyl, which itself is 50 times more potent than heroin.
