Kettering sports bar’s vendors license suspended

The Buckin’ Donkey Grille, which opened in March 2012 at 3808 Wilmington Pike in Kettering, has been closed in recent days, and a notice posted on the sports bar’s front entrance by the Ohio Department of Taxation says the eatery’s vendors license is under suspension as of March 6.

Sean McKown, co-founder and co-owner of the sports bar/restaurant, said in an email Tuesday that the Buckin’ Donkey is “temporarily closed,” and he said he hopes to “be back up and running in the next few days.” He declined to comment on the tax notice.

The state tax department can suspend a business’ ability to engage in retail sales when the business is in arrears in tax payments to the state.
