School board to hold meeting to discuss vacancy

The Vandalia-Butler Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting for Monday, March 20 at 8:30 a.m. at the Board of Education office.

The meeting is to discuss the board vacancy created by the death of Board President Bruce Sucher.

The Board will accept letters of interest to fill the vacancy until 8 a.m. on Monday, March 20. Letters of interest should be directed to Eric Beavers by email at eric.beavers@vbcsd.com.

According to board policy, the board must appoint a replacement no sooner than 10 days and no later than 30 days following a vacancy. With that policy, the board must appoint a new board member at its next regular meeting which is currently scheduled for Tuesday, March 21.
