Baker is now the director of logistics at AFMC, a post he has had since September. Baker began his career as an enlisted airmen before he was commissioned as an Air Force officer in 1985, according to the Air Force.
He most recently was the commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Complex at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, before his latest assignment at AFMC headquarters at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. AFMC has about 80,000 military and civilian employees around the world and manages a $60 billion budget. The command develops, buys and maintains most Air Force weapon systems. Gen. Janet C. Wolfenbarger is AFMC commander.
Busch’s appointment to the DLA’s top leadership post requires Senate confirmation. A date for the reassigned roles has not been released.
The Defense Logistics Agency, which has an office in Columbus, has 25,500 employees and provides $39 billion in sales and services to the U.S. military and other federal agencies.
