Throwback movie night Oct. 20

Centerville Library, 111 W. Spring Valley Road, is hosting a throwback family movie night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 20.

This month’s movie is Matilda. Popcorn and snacks will be provided. This movie is rated PG.

Participants are welcome to bring bean bag chairs or pillows. This is open to all age groups.

Teen Fright Night set for Oct. 21

A teen fright night will be held from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 21 at Centerville Library, 111 W. Spring Valley Road.

The after-hours event will include a costume contest, creepy food and scavenger hunt in the dark.

The event is geared toward students in sixth through 12th grade.

Gross Goodies set for Oct. 27

Kids 7-13 can learn how to gross out friends and family with good-tasting, but gross goodies from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Lathrem Senior Center, 2900 Glengarry Drive.

The cost is $15 for residents and $18 for nonresidents.

Brains and Balance class starts Nov. 5

Brains and Balance will be available 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sundays, Nov. 5 through Nov. 26, at the Lathrem Senior Center, 2900 Glengarry Drive.

This is geared toward those 16 years and older who want to stay mentally sharp and physically stable. Specific exercises will help reduce the risk of falling.

All levels of fitness are welcome. The cost is $25 for residents and $35 for nonresidents.

OAKWOOD

Hidden Parks tour planned

Mark W. Risley, with the Oakwood Historical Society, will lead a 1 1/2-mile walk from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 21.

The walk will explore the three connected wooded trails: Loy Garden, Elizabeth Gardens and Houk Stream.

Risley will discuss the history, nature and geography of these three areas.

Participants are encouraged to bring water bottles and wear comfortable shoes. Photography is encouraged.

Registration is required.

Baby Storytime at Wright Memorial

Baby Storytime will be held from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Oct. 23 at Wright Memorial Public Library, 1776 Far Hills Ave.

This program is geared toward children up to 18 months old. Siblings are welcome to attend as well.

Kids will participate in finger plays, stories and rhymes.
