Busy stretch of Patterson Rd. expected to be closed through morning commute

A heavily traveled stretch of Patterson Road in Dayton will be blocked for most of the Wednesday morning commute for crews to repair a damaged utility pole.

Dayton police said both directions of Patterson Road between Shroyer Road and Wilmington Avenue will be blocked while DP&L crews work to replace a utility pole damaged in a crash overnight.

The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Patterson Road. Initial reports indicate the vehicle was found unoccupied, but had severely damaged a utility pole.

Officers were unsure how long the roadway will be shut down, but estimated the closure could last through the morning commute.
