Butler County home ‘fully engulfed’ brings in extra fire crews

Multiple fire crews, including some from northern Hamilton County, are battling a fire that has “fully engulfed” a house in southern Butler County’s Morgan Twp.

Butler County dispatchers said fire crews were in a defensive mode in battling the blaze, which was first reported as a fire in the attached garage of the 1.5-story residence at 4707 Layhigh Road.

Firefighters on the scene have ordered crews out of the building for concerns the roof is unstable, according to emergency dispatches.

Dispatchers said there are no reports of injuries.

The fire was first reported at approximately 2:13 p.m. today.
