1. $1 million Powerball winner in Centerville

One of three $1 million Powerball tickets in Ohio was sold at a Speedway in Centerville. The three tickets matched the first five numbers, but not the Powerball number.

2. Earth Fare to shut down Centerville grocery store

Faced with competition from other area grocery stores and the continued challenge of its physical location, Earth Fare, which opened in October 2011, closed its Dayton location.

3. Centerville Cabela's to give away guns on Black Friday

As an incentive for Black Friday shoppers, Cabela’s gave out gifts, ranging from firearms to outdoor products to Cabela’s cash cards, to its first 600 customers, 18 years of age or older.

4. Search: How much is your kid's teacher, principal paid?

Among 12,221 area school district employees from 112 area school districts, Thomas Henderson, Centerville City Schools Superintendent, was the highest paid public school district employee at $208,640.

5. Centerville lacrosse captain revived on the field after collapsing

During a game against Moeller, Grant Mays, captain of Centerville’s lacrosse team, collapsed after a shot to the heart, but was revived by an AED.
