Driver suffers serious injuries in crash on wet Dayton street

Two people were sent to the hospital, including a male driver who was seriously injured, from a single-vehicle crash that temporarily shut down southbound James H. McGee Boulevard at Rosedale Drive.

The driver hit an area of pooling water and lost control, striking a pole on the driver’s side at approximately 9:17 a.m., according to Dayton Sgt. Creigee Coleman.

The female passenger was able to exit the vehicle. She was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Dayton firefighters used equipment to extricate the driver from the vehicle.

Coleman said the driver suffered serious injuries.

Crash investigators were called to reconstruct the incident.

Coleman said beyond wet road conditions, no other factors are believed involved.
