Local cleanup continues after Miami Valley storms

Cleanup efforts in several cities has started after storms struck the Miami Valley area Monday evening.

BELLBROOK:

Power has been restored to Bellbrook residents and a tree that fell onto a home has been removed.

Dozens of homes on Barnett Drive and Wead Place were without power on Tuesday.

OAKWOOD:

The Oakwood Public Works Department was busy cleaning up trees and debris that came crashing down on a car on Peach Orchard Avenue.

“This morning, when I came in to babysit my granddaughter...I noticed huge limbs down on the sidewalks and leaves everywhere. But out walking everywhere, I've seen huge trees down,” said Sandy Hart, who was in Oakwood this morning.

KETTERING:

Trees also were brought down throughout Kettering, including at Irelan Park on the corner of East David and Marshall roads.

CENTERVILLE:

Power crews were out around noon at Village South Park working to clear a tree from power lines there.

In Washington Twp., multiple trees had tops snapped off on Woodfield Drive.

WEST MILTON:

Various damage reports were made throughout West Milton and clean up still remains throughout the village.

A power pole was knocked down on Ohio 48 near an insurance agency.

Metal overhangs also were seen flipped onto their tops.

LUDLOW FALLS:

A large tree was still down in the 100 block of Vine Street in Ludlow Falls this morning.

Cleanup is still underway on Horseshoe Bend Road, where a barn was destroyed during Monday’s storm.
